Billing & Payment Information
Patients are expected to establish financial responsibility before, during, or after services are provided. You may be asked to pay an insurance deductible, co-payment, or deposit amount at the point of service.
Stone County Medical Center will file claims with your insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, but payment of the balance of your hospital bill is the ultimate responsibility of the patient.
When patient financial responsibility has not been met and the patient has not paid an account in full or made suitable payment arrangements in a timely manner, SCMC may, unfortunately, choose to ask outside agencies or legal resources for help in obtaining payment.
Stone County Medical Center is a tax-exempt organization committed to caring for our community. We will not refuse medically necessary services to any patient who can not afford to pay.
If you anticipate difficulty meeting your financial obligation to SCMC, financial assistance or payment arrangement options are available.
Stone County Medical Center’s financial counselors are available 8:00am to 5:00pm. Monday through Friday to assist you in meeting your financial obligations. Financial counselors can be reached at (870) 269-7444, extension 5020 or 5021, or visit them in the financial counseling office located just inside the Stone County Medical Center’s main entrance. You may print and complete the Financial Assistance Application by clicking here. Please take the completed application and supporting documentation to the Financial Counseling office during business hours.
Thank you for choosing SCMC to serve your healthcare needs.
