Cancer Care

Cancer treatment services at White River Medical Center focus on the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients during their treatment journey. Cancer treatment plans vary depending on the type and stage of cancer as well as the age and health of the patient.

A medical oncologist usually coordinates care between primary care physicians, surgeons and radiation oncologists. Cancer treatment may include medication, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or some combination of treatments. Patients often undergo on-going medication therapy and follow-up diagnostic tests to monitor the disease.

For patients who qualify, WRMC Cancer Care Center provides assistance with transportations costs through a grant from the American Cancer Society and private donations.  Wigs, turbans and prosthetic supplies are also available to patients if needed.

Although physician referral is required for treatment, we would be happy to answer questions about cancer treatment services.  Appointments for consultations and treatments are scheduled making every effort to accommodate our patients.
