Cancer Care Center
White River Medical Center provides complete cancer-care services for North Central Arkansas. At WRMC, cancer care includes state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The WRMC Cancer Care Center  opened in early 2000 and began providing radiation therapy services to cancer patients. Our team is dedicated to providing patients and their families with professional, compassionate care.
Treatment plans vary depending on the type and stage of the disease and the general health of the patient. Medical technology and drug research have made great progress in the fight against cancer and greatly reduced the negative side effects of cancer treatment. Your physician will discuss the treatment options available to you and recommend a plan.
Cancer is most often treated using surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or some combination of each. Your physician may refer you to a specialist to coordinate your care. In most cases, a medical oncologist coordinates care between the primary care physician, surgeon and radiation oncologist.
 The WRMC Cancer Care Center has a well-equipped library with health information for cancer patients. Patients and their families have access to the latest information from the American Cancer Society, Cancer Research Institute and online resources.
In addition to treatment and medical information, the WRMC Cancer Care Center provides ongoing support for patients and their families. Wigs, turbans and prosthetic supplies are available to patients through a grant from the American Cancer Society.
The WRMC Cancer Care Center is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m.  until 4:30 p.m. and can be reached at (870) 262-6200 or 1-(800) 342-6913. Although physician referral is required for treatment, we would be happy to talk with you about your questions and contact your physician as necessary. Appointments for consultations and treatments are scheduled making every effort to accommodate our patients.
