Emergency

Emergency Department
In an emergency immediate access to care is vitally important.  At our hospitals, White River Medical Center and Stone County Medical Center, our staff is always ready.  When you come to the Emergency Department it is important to remember that patients are seen based on the severity of their illness or injury. Your condition will be assessed by the triage
staff and monitored continuously until you are taken to a treatment room. It is our goal to provide very good care to our patients.

Trauma Care
Our healthcare system is working with the Arkansas Department of Health as a statewide trauma system is developed.  White River Medical Center has applied for Level III trauma status and Stone County Medical Center has applied for Level IV status. The state-wide trauma network will improve emergency care of patients across the state by providing access to the most appropriate care.

Arkansas Saves Program
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in Arkansas.  White River Medical Center is partnering with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to improve access to the appropriate care for stroke patients.  Emergency Department physicians and clinical staff communicate with on-call specialists using a real-time video connection which provides access to important diagnostic information for timely diagnosis and allow physicians to initiate appropriate treatment.
