Endowments

An endowment is a fund that provides on-going financial support for a program the donor cherishes. While the principal remains intact, earnings from the endowment enable the fund to provide income. Some endowments provide income for whatever needs are greatest; some support scholarship programs that look to the future healthcare in North Central Arkansas; and some provide for technology advancements to further provide quality and efficient healthcare for our service area.

White River Health System Foundation policy is to spend only the interest that accrues on an endowment. This allows the original endowment to stay intact through the years.

Many friends of White River Health System Foundation appreciate the opportunities that endowment-giving provides them. Since the gift of an endowment remains in perpetuity, the donor may specify the name of the endowment, whether it is in the donor’s name or in the name of a family member or others held dear. Also, the endowment may be set up to benefit any program the donor wishes.

We ask that donors meet a minimum goal of $5,000 to establish an endowment. This may be achieved over 3 to 5 years. An endowment of $5,000 will provide income for programs to benefit White River Health System each year. The original donor and others may also add to the endowment fund at any time.
