Ladies Night Out

White River Medical Center and the Citizen’s Bank of Batesville have been sponsoring Ladies Night Out for more than 13 years. Ladies Night Out has been has become a trusted source of health information for the women of Batesville, Independence County and the surrounding area. Each year, Ladies Night Out provides women with an evening of health information, health screenings and fun. The topics and format of the evening has evolved over time but the overall theme, “Helping Women to Lead Healthy Happy Lives”, has remained the same.

An event standard that women really look forward to is the presentation of the latest health information from members of the White River Medical Center Medical Staff.

“Our Community is so blessed to have a talented and diverse medical community,” said Linda Creighton, Vice President of Marketing for Citizens Bank. “The physicians generously offer their time to provide information to our participants.”

In order for health topics to be covered in more detail and to give women an opportunity to ask questions, physicians present information in a classroom presentation setting. Some past topics include, Breast Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment, Surgical Treatment of Morbid Obesity, Stress Management Techniques for Busy Women and Information and Advice on Managing Menopause.

The Exhibit and Screening area is another important element of Ladies Night Out. Free screenings for cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and more are available. Booth space has been made available for counseling and follow up for those with screening results that recommend further action. The exhibit area will also provide information on the medical services available at White River Medical Center. Special focus will be placed on new services, such as wound healing and pain management and the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging.

“We think it is important for women to follow up on any abnormal results indicated by screenings at Ladies Night Out,” said Sheila Mace, Public Relations Coordinator. “This event occurs yearly in the fall.”
