Spiritual Care

White River ChapelSpiritual care is an important part of the healing process. White River Health System employs a full time Chaplain and as an employee our Chaplain is non-demoninational and trained to address a variety of faith prespectives. Our Chaplain works with area clergy of every faith, and together they work to meet the spiritual needs of patients, families, staff and employees. With your permission, your religious affiliation will be noted upon admission and made available to clergy of your faith. We will respect your right to keep your religious affiliation private should you choose.

Special Projects

The Pastoral Care Department adopted the Teddy Bear Ministry as a way to help brighten a patient's stay at WRMC. Teddy bears (and all stuffed animals) turn “tears into smiles” with children and senior adults. At the present time, this ministry gives away approximately 5,000 teddy bears annually. All teddy bears come from donations and are funded by various groups and individuals.

To participate in the Teddy Bear Ministry, please contact Senior Chaplain D. L. Spurlin at 870-262-1413 or via mail at:
