Recuperative Care

The Recuperative Care department of White River Medical Center (WRMC) is a Skilled Nursing facility. We use an interdisciplinary approach to individual treatment plans for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.

Our staff includes dedicated Physicians, Activities Coordinator, and 24-hour nursing. In our Activities/Family Room, we offer daily activities such as group singing, bingo, devotion, wheelchair rides, and movie/popcorn socials. A Hair Salon is also available to patients.

The program is recognized by Medicare Part A and other third party payers. Individuals with Medicare Part A may qualify for the program if they have had a 3-night qualifying stay in an acute care facility within the last 30 days. They may also qualify if their skilled care needs identified by a primary or referring physician include wound care, physical or occupational therapy for strengthening or gait training, speech therapy for swallowing or speech disorders, 24-hour nursing care, or observation of a continued acute illness.

A discharge planner is available to assist with aftercare.
