The Respiratory Care Department is an important part of the overall healthcare team and provides both in-patient and out-patient services to meet the cardiopulmonary
needs of our patients. Under the supervision of a physician, Respiratory Therapists work with patients with conditions including but not limited to Asthma, COPD, Pneumonia, Chronic Bronchitis, Emphysema and Heart Disease.
We provide complete respiratory therapy services including:
• diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function testing
• blood gas analysis (which checks the oxygen level of the blood)
• EKG testing (electrocardiogram)
• breathing treatments/updrafts
• incentive spirometry (breathing exercises)
• ventilator management
• BiPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) and CPAP (continuous positive
airway pressure) management
• oxygen therapy
• Patient teaching and education
