Since 1995, the White River Health System Foundation (WRHSF) Scholarship Program has helped deserving students pursue a nursing education. Each year, the WRHSF awards scholarships to Licensed Practical Nurses studying to become Registered Nurses. The goal of these scholarships is to relieve some of the financial burden for students seeking career advancement. WRHSF encourages education among men and women who devote their careers to saving lives and improving the lives of others through nursing. The WRHSF gratefully acknowledges our donors, whose contributions make the Scholarship Program possible.

A Foundation scholarship creates educational opportunities for the recipient, and helps to ensure the availability of well trained nurses needed to care for our patients. The Foundation salutes those who dedicate their careers to saving lives and improving their communities through nursing.
Bonnie J. Bernard Scholarship – The Bonnie J. Bernard Scholarship was established by the late Bonnie Bernard, RN, and her husband Dick Bernard. Mrs. Bernard fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse while raising a family. Throughout her career, she encountered talented caregivers whose careers were limited when financial limitations prevented them from continuing their education. The scholarship is intended to remove financial barriers and encourage professional nursing development and education.
WRHS Foundation Nursing Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of donors and are available to current employees of White River Health System.
