Hospital Setting and On-Site Industry Program Information Sheet

Participants may attend Smoke Free Sessions at:

A private orientation will be conducted with each participant prior to any counseling sessions (1 hour) Individuals will be offered a variety of times to attend.

• There will be a total of 4 counseling sessions (1 hour each)

• Participants will participate in a series of (4) facilitated discussions led by a Nicotine Dependence Counselor.
• Participants can look forward to learning about: Curriculum provided by the AFMC
  • Reduction and Quitting – each participant will be expected to select a quit date and reduce their smoking prior to quitting
  • Relapse Prevention Strategies – participants will learn how to cope with cues and triggers that lead to cigarette smoking. They will also learn about nicotine replacement therapies such as Zyban, the Patch, Gum….etc.
  • Self- Monitoring – Participants will be kept aware of how much, where, and when they use tobacco and how to help control their tobacco use, by breaking the automatic parts of the habit
  • Weekly Goals – we will work with each participant to set up appropriate goals at the end of each session.
• The decision to quit is the Individuals. There is NO MAGIC PILL or PROGRAM that will ensure success. You must be motivated and ready to quit.
