What your work involves: I assist the pathologists with gross dissection and autopsies and the physicians with bone marrow processing. I handle recordkeeping and quality measures for Pathology and I am the safety, HIPAA, Bioterrorism and chemical hygiene officer for the Laboratory.

What do you like about WRMC: I've grown to respect the terrific lab employees here. They are knowledgeable and hard-working in jobs that can be difficult and complicated. And as a bonus, Dr. Johnson is the best boss I've ever worked for.

Personal Information: Dennis and I have been married for 26 years and have two great kids and a new son-in-law. I love to decorate and direct small events. I love the Lord and have learned that the life best lived is under His lordship, and the only and greatest work ever done was finished at the cross.

Department you work: Medical Laboratory Technician
What your work involves: I am a lab tech, drawing blood from patients for testing. I have worked for over 10 years and the last four years have been the most enjoyable because they have been here at SCMC.
How long have you worked at SCMC: 4 years
What do you like about SCMC: I really like the way that we all are just one big happy family. We all work together and take care of what needs to be done. I really enjoy putting a face to a tube of blood. I love meeting new people and visiting with the ones I have already met.

Personal Information: I am married to Tony Ragland. I have one daughter, Keshia and two step children, April and Anthony. I am active in my church, First Baptist Church of Marshall. My one goal in life is to be known as a "Good Christian Lady". I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing and playing softball. I love to do volunteer work and be involved with projects. I love to see people's faces when they are rewarded for things they have accomplished. That is the main reason I love being part of the Rewards and Recognition Team here at SCMC.

What your work involves: Scheduling, quality improvement and nurse education. I assist in any nursing departments that are in need related to patient care or employee (nursing) assistance. I work with patients who may have concerns or suggestions to improve their quality of care. I teach ACLS, PALS, CPR, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Arrhythmia Interpretation.

What do you like about SCMC: My co-workers are my family and help me be the best person possible.

Personal Information: I am married to John Gillihan and have one stepdaughter, Marissa. I enjoy riding 4-wheelers and fishing with my husband. I have recently completed my Masters in Health Administration and will graduate this month. I have a 9-month old yorkie dog who is the best! She is a great past time and always makes me feel better.

What do you like about WRMC: I have been blessed to have a great job here at WRMC. I have worked with many different people and seen much growth.

Personal Information: I have been married for 4.5 years and have one son. He is such a joy. My wife and I love him dearly. We are going to have another baby in a few weeks and are very excited.

What your work involves: I work all bulk insurance remittances. I am the back-up remit posting clerk for hand-posted payments. I am also on the Standards Team and produce the ACE Newsletter. I am on the Patient Accounts team for the Meditech Conversion.
How long have you worked for WRMC: I will have been at WRMC for 8 Years in Nov 2008.
Personal information: I have been married for 12 years to Christopher Slisher. We have two children Ian, age 3 and Lana, age 17 months. I don’t have much time for hobbies with children as little as mine, but I do enjoy travel and reading when time allows.
What you like about WRMC: The people that I work with are so supportive and are always there when I need a sounding board. Also, WRMC is a facility with a lot of potential for growth, and I enjoy being part of the process to grow and improve WRMC.
Other areas of the hospital in which you have worked: I have been in Patient Accounts since my hire date of Nov 2000, and I have had several positions in Patient Accounts. I started as a follow up representative in 2000. In 2002, I became an insurance biller. In 2005, I took my current position as remit clerk.
