Stone County Medical Center is located at 2106 East Main/Hwy. 14 in Mountain View. SCMC is a private not-for-profit regional healthcare provider. It is a 25-bed facility with a variety of services and is continuously adding services to better meet the medical needs of Stone County and the surrounding area. SCMC became a part of White River Health System on April 1, 1999. Stone County Medical Center strives to provide the Mountain View area with quality medical care. SCMC became a critical access designated hospital on October 1, 2000.
SCMC’s new Surgery/Outpatient Wing was opened December 5, 2005. The new Surgical Services Department includes an outpatient admissions area and waiting room, three preoperative beds, two operating suites, an endoscopy room, four postoperative beds, central sterile facilities, nursing station, and physician and staff support. The new wing also includes 6 semi-private patient rooms with an Intermediate Care Unit. Intermediate Care is for patients who may require a higher level of nursing care.
Phase II construction includes a new Emergency Department, renovation of existing patient rooms and renovation of the Imaging Department. The second phase also includes renovation of the hospital’s main entrance with the addition of a larger waiting room, gift shop and cafeteria.
