Rhonda Thompson, RN, Senior HavenRhonda Thompson, RN, Senior Haven, is the White River Medical Center (WRMC) June Employee of the Month as the representative of Respect.  Rhonda’s job duties include working as the Charge Nurse, providing direct patient care, completing evaluations, serving on nursing teams, and ordering unit supplies. She has worked at WRMC for ten years. Prior to working in Senior Haven, Rhonda worked in the Recuperative Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation Units.

Rhonda enjoys helping patients and their families. She also enjoys her co-workers.  “Senior Haven has an awesome staff. Ashtin Rogers, BSN, is a great Nurse Manager and the physicians, Dr. Czerwinski and Dr. Fielder, are great to work with,” said Rhonda.

Robert Cole, May 2016 Employee of the MonthRobert Cole, Information Systems Analyst, is the White River Medical Center (WRMC) May Employee of the Month as the representative of Prompt Service.  Robert provides computer support to employees in all hospital departments.  Even though he does not provide direct patient care, his work has a direct impact on the patient experience. Robert has worked at WRMC for eight years. Prior to working at WRMC; he worked in Jacksonville, AR as a NREMT-I for 17 years.

What Robert enjoys most about WRMC is the relationship he has with his co-workers in Information Systems and throughout the organization.  “WRHS is a good place to work.  WRHS’ growth is evidence of the organization’s commitment to improving our community,” said Robert.

Kayla Ward RN, WRMC Wound Healing Center, April 2016 Employee of the MonthKayla Ward, RN, Wound Clinic, is the White River Medical Center (WRMC) April Employee of the Month as the representative of Environmental Focus.  Kayla provides care and education to patients treated in the WRMC Wound Healing Center including assisting with hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments.  Kayla has worked at WRMC for six years and previously worked in the Emergency Department and the Nursing Float Pool.

What Kayla enjoys most about WRMC is the Wound Care Team.  She describes her co-workers as family members that are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Kayla has been married to her husband, Daniel, for three years. Together they enjoy Daniel’s daughter, Addison, and are expecting their first son, Eli James, in June. Kayla’s hobbies include spending time with her...Read more

Autumn Jones RN BSN, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Employee of the MonthAutumn Jones, BSN, RN, Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation (Rehab), is the White River Medical Center (WRMC) March Employee of the Month as the representative of Demeanor.

Autumn monitors patients during exercise and leads education sessions for patients enrolled in WRMC’s Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Program. She also teaches patients with Congestive Heart Failure how to manage their condition and provides Tobacco Cessation counseling. Autumn is an 11-year employee of WRMC and previously worked in Recuperative Care/Inpatient Rehab, the Progressive Care Unit, and Surgery Pre-Operative/Post-Operative Care Department.

Autumn enjoys the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab team and considers her co-workers family. She also enjoys watching patients improve mentally and physically, as they complete Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.

Erin Beth Hays PharmD BCPS, Clinical Coordinator, WRMCErin Beth Hays, PharmD, BCPS, Clinical Coordinator, is the White River Medical Center (WRMC) February 2016 Employee of the Month. She was nominated and selected as the representative of Involved in the PRIDE (Prompt, Respect, Involved, Demeanor, Environmental Focus) Standards.  Erin Beth began her career with WRMC in 2009 as the first Pharmacy Resident.

Erin Beth monitors patients receiving specific medications daily. She also monitors overall antibiotic use in the hospital. Erin Beth supervises the clinical services provided by the Pharmacy Department, and serves on committee related to patient care, as well as multi-disciplinary teams working to improve patient care.

Curtis Mynatt, WRMC January 2016 Employee of the MonthCurtis Mynatt, CNMT, BSRT (N), Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Supervisor, is the White River Medical Center January 2016 Employee of the Month. He was nominated and selected as the representative of Respect in the PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In Delivering Excellence) Standard.

Curtis prepares and administers radioactive medication to patients, and uses a gamma camera to produce images used by Radiologists to diagnose and determine the severity of many different diseases including cancer, heart disease, gastrointestinal, endocrine and neurological disorders. He has worked at WRMC for 14 years.

Pat Reynolds, Scheduler, WRMC Pre-Service UnitWhite River Medical Center’s (WRMC) December Employee of the Month is Pat Reynolds.  Pat works in the Pre-Service Unit as a scheduler.  Pat is being recognized for providing Prompt Response, the first attribute of PRIDE, the standard by which we all commit to guide our interactions with patients, visitors and each other.

Pat has worked at WRMC for 33 years and has served as a Patient Care Tech, PBX Operator, Radiology Secretary, Radiology Transporter, and Radiology film developer before taking a position as a Scheduler.  In the Pre-Service Unit, Pat schedules Radiology procedures and communicates with the physician offices to provide the best care possible to each patient. She enjoys helping people and feels like she learns from her co-workers and her patients every day.

Jami Smotherman, WRMC Cancer Care Center Tumor Registrar

White River Medical Center’s (WRMC) November Employee of the Month is Jami Smotherman, Tumor Registrar at the WRMC Cancer Care Center.  She was selected by the Standards Team for best demonstrating WRMC’s Appearance Standard.

Jami collects data from patients diagnosed with cancer who are receiving treatment at White River Health System.  She submits the information to the Arkansas Department of Health Cancer Registry where the data is used to monitor and improve cancer treatment, conduct research, and improve cancer prevention screening programs nationwide.

“I love being able to make a difference in the lives of our patients,” Jami said when asked what she liked best about working at WRMC. “We laugh and cry right along with our patients.”
