Health Fair Set for October 30

Residents of Sharp County and surrounding areas will have a chance to get essential health screenings and important health information at no cost during the 2015 Health Fair at the WRMC Medical Complex.

The Health Fair will take place on Friday, October 30, from 7:30am until 2:00pm, and will be at the North Entrance of the WRMC Medical Complex, located at 197 Hospital Drive.

“Annual screenings are vital to everyone’s overall health and well-being,” said James Mack Street, WRMC Medical Complex Facility Administrator. “We are excited to partner with departments in our organization and businesses in our community to provide this event at no cost to participants.”

Approximately 30 healthcare affiliates are participating in the event. Screenings offered include glucose and cholesterol checks, blood pressure checks, balance testing, body mass index, body fat percent, vision test, hearing test, heart rate test, bone density, and oxygen saturation. Massages will also be provided.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the community, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of all that is being offered,” said Street.

In addition to health information and screenings, participants will have a chance to win door prizes.
