Jana Richardson Appointed WRHS Chief Finanical Officer

Batesville, Ark.--Gary L. Bebow, White River Health System (WRHS) Administrator/CEO has announced the appointment of Jana Richardson to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replacing the retiring Gary Britten.

Jana has thirty-five years of experience in finance and a total of ten years of experience with healthcare finance including five years at WRHS. She began her career at WRHS as Controller, and then served as Interim CFO before being appointed to CFO.

As CFO, Jana will have administrative responsibility for financial operations including accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and materials management for all facilities in the system.

Jana has watched the world of accounting evolve throughout the years. When she attended college at Arkansas State University (ASU) in Jonesboro, it was rare for women to pursue degrees in Accounting. Although the field was predominantly male at the time, she didn’t let that stop her from pushing forward and earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from ASU. She not only graduated, but was honored as a Student of Special Distinction and received the Wilson Award for the Highest GPA in the College of Business.

“I was inspired to become an accountant by my high school business teacher and knew that’s what I wanted to do,” said Jana. “Between that and my mother’s strong support and work ethic, I never considered it something I couldn’t do.”

Jana’s ambition and experience have prepared her to take on the role of CFO at WRHS.

“I’m ready to make this leap in my career and look forward to providing ongoing support to WRHS as it faces the financial challenges currently affecting healthcare across the nation,” said Jana.

“We are pleased to appoint Jana to CFO,” said Bebow. “She has extensive experience in healthcare finance as well as years of experience with WRHS, which makes a strong formula for success.”

Jana is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Jana and her husband, Aubrey, reside in Mountain View. They have two sons: Andrew and Eric. Andrew resides in Mountain View and Eric and his wife Bethany reside in Cave City. Jana and her family are members of Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View where she serves as Co-Treasurer as well as a member of the Finance Committee.
