Stone County Medical Center (SCMC) has expanded ER physician coverage provided to patients in the region with the addition of two new doctors. Drs. Marie Kent and Trent Lamb, Emergency Medicine Physicians, recently joined Drs. Barry Pierce and Glen Knowles in the SCMC Emergency Room. Kent, who is currently part-time, will become a full-time employee in July, which means the SCMC ER will be staffed by four full-time physicians.

Dr. Kent attended Medical School at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and completed her residency in Family Medicine at UAMS Area Health Education Center South Central in Pine Bluff. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Lamb also attended Medical School at the UAMS and completed his residency in Family Medicine at UAMS Area Health Education Center Northeast in Jonesboro. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army from 1992 until 2002.

“We are very excited about the improved ER coverage to our area,” said Townsend. “We have a staff of very dedicated physicians who truly care about the health and well-being of all the patients who come through our doors.”

Stone County Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving Mountain View and the surrounding area.  Stone County Medical Center is an affiliate of White River Health System, a multi facility not-for-profit organization providing healthcare services to residents in a seven county area of North Central Arkansas.
