Vascular Specialist Joins White River Medical Center

Mark Wright MD Vascular Surgeon(Batesville, Ark.) –Gary L. Bebow, Administrator/CEO of White River Medical Center (WRMC), is pleased to welcome Vascular Specialist, Mark Wright, M.D. to the Medical Staff. 

Vascular Specialists are physicians with expertise in the medical management, minimally invasive (angioplasty, stenting and atherectomy) and open surgical management to maintain or restore blood flow in the treatment of circulatory disease. Dr. Wright’s practice includes, but is not limited to: peripheral arterial disease, abdominal and thoracic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, mesenteric ischemia, renal artery stenosis, varicose veins, venous insufficiency, and AV access for renal failure. 

Dr. Wright is Board Certified in Vascular Surgery and General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock. He completed a General Surgery Residency and Vascular/Endovascular Fellowship at UAMS.

Dr. Wright will be the guest presenter at WRMC’s Community Health Education Luncheon on Tuesday, April 12 at noon in the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging Conference Room. He will present on Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), a condition in which narrowed arteries or plaque buildup decrease blood flow, most commonly in the limbs.

“Peripheral Arterial Disease is the most common vascular disease,” said Dr. Wright. “As many as 30% of patients with PAD have no symptoms making it very important for adults, especially those over 65, to understand the risk factors for PAD, and how PAD is diagnosed and treated. ”

Dr. Wright, an Arkansas native, enjoys sports and being outdoors.
