WRMC Medical Complex Implements Volunteer Program

Back Row Ralph Julien, Chuck Zajiecek, Tom Helfert, Front Row Joann Helfert, Joyce KingslandThe WRMC Medical Complex recently recruited a few more helping hands to assist patients, visitors, and employees by reorganizing its Volunteer Program.

“The purpose of our Volunteer Program is to allow the men and women in our community the opportunity to give their time and talents to help individuals at the Complex,” said James Mack Street, WRMC Medical Complex Facility Administrator.

The duties of the volunteers include greeting individuals as they enter the Complex, guiding visitors to the appropriate locations, using a golf cart to escort patients to different areas of the Complex, assisting employees with certain tasks, serving as ambassadors in the community, and more.

Each volunteer went through an application process and participated in orientation training, which included education on patient confidentiality laws and regulations.

“Volunteers are being utilized at both White River Medical Center in Batesville and Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View,” said Street. “Volunteers are a great asset to our organization, and we are excited about the number of community members who have stepped up to volunteer at the WRMC Medical Complex. This program is an excellent service to our patients, visitors, and employees, and it is very rewarding to our volunteers.”

The Complex is currently accepting volunteer applications. Those who would like more information about volunteering can call Street at (870) 257-6061.
