Paxson Named Hospital Administrator

Gary Paxson, White River Medical Center Administrator(Batesville, Ark.) – Gary L. Bebow, FACHE, White River Health System (WRHS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) announced the appointment of Gary Paxson, RN, BSN, MS to the position of White River Medical Center (WRMC) Administrator. Paxson’s responsibilities include management of day-to-day hospital operations.  As WRHS CEO, Bebow will lead system-wide initiatives to guide the organization.

“The rapidly changing healthcare environment requires organizations to focus on innovation, technology, and effective resource allocation. Mr. Bebow’s focus in these areas will ensure WRHS is well-positioned for future growth and continued success,” said Boris Dover, Chairman of the WRHS Board of Directors.

Paxson has 23 years of healthcare experience.  His career includes positions in nursing, healthcare information systems, and executive management.  Paxson joined WRMC in 2012 as Chief Information Officer. In 2015, Paxson was name Chief Quality officer. He led the development of quality protocols and reporting to improve patient outcomes and comply with quality reporting metrics including unintended readmission, antibiotic use, and hospital acquired conditions.

“Gary has demonstrated exceptional ability to build consensus between administrative, clinical, financial, and operational teams,” said Bebow. “I am confident WRMC will continue to thrive with Gary as the Administrator.”

Paxson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford, Illinois, and a Master of Science in Information System Management – Healthcare Administration Concentration from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska.

WRHS is a not-for-profit healthcare system serving residents throughout North Central Arkansas.  The system includes hospitals, outpatient facilities, rural health clinics, physician practices, and senior life centers.  WRHS is a member of the Premier Alliance, the American Hospital Association, and the Arkansas Hospital Association and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health.
