WRHS Opens Tuckerman Medical Clinic

White River Health System (WRHS) has announced the opening of its newest primary care clinic, the Tuckerman Medical Clinic. This clinic joins nine other WRHS affiliated primary care clinics including locations in Newport, Newark, Pleasant Plains, and Strawberry.

“We strive to identify areas that have little to no medical support. Our goal is to bring primary care to those communities so residents do not have to drive far to receive basic preventative care,” said Gary Bebow, CEO of WRHS.

The Tuckerman Medical Clinic is located at 102 Elm Street, across from T-Ricks convenience store. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Colleen Blanchard, is currently seeing patients at the clinic on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Blanchard has over 16 years of experience in healthcare at many different levels. She achieved her Masters in Nursing Practice in early 2014. As a young girl, Blanchard was inspired by her Aunt to pursue a career in Nursing Practice. Later in life, she received medical care by Nurse Practitioners during a very emotional time.

“They made such an impression on me with their compassionate, knowledgeable provision of care. They also gave me a feeling of safety, and empowerment,” said Blanchard. “The care they gave me encouraged me to continue following my dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.”

Her journey to become a Nurse Practitioner consisted of long hours, working numerous jobs at one time, attending courses, and raising a family, but she says she wouldn’t change a thing.

“I grew up in a small town where I learned the importance of working hard, not giving up, and caring for your neighbors,” she said. Tuckerman, she says, reminds her of her hometown.

“When I graduated with my degree in Nursing Practice, I searched for job opportunities away from the city,” said Blanchard. “I wanted to make a difference in a small community like the one where I grew up, and I feel like Tuckerman is where I’m meant to be. I’m also very excited to be a part of an organization that grows and adapts like White River Health System.”

Blanchard has lived in Arkansas since 2001 and considers it home. She is married, and has three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors riding her horses.

“Colleen really has a heart for community and a heart for healthcare,” said Bebow. “I believe she will make a great provider for the Tuckerman area, and we look forward to seeing the work she will do in that community.”

The Tuckerman Medical Clinic Staff will also include Deann Smith, LPN, and Romee Benish, receptionist. Clinic staff can be reached and appointments can be made by calling 870-624-2892.
