Jones Named Director of Surgical Services at White River Medical Center

Marnetta Jones, WRMC Director of Surgical ServicesGary Bebow, White River Medical Center (WRMC) Administrator/CEO, is pleased to welcome Marnetta Jones as the Director of Surgical Services at WRMC.

Jones, a Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR), has more than 20 years of experience as a surgical nurse and over 18 years of experience in healthcare leadership roles. She is responsible for managing the delivery of safe, effective care to patients requiring surgical services at WRMC. She also focuses on promoting an environment dedicated to patient and family-centered care. Surgical Services consists of 13 operating/procedure rooms, more than 20 surgeons, and over 75 employees. On average, more than 11,000 surgeries are performed at WRMC each year.

“Marnetta has an extensive history in her specialty and a strong commitment to quality care,” said Gary Bebow.  “We are glad to have her on our team, and we look forward to her leadership of our surgical services department.”

Jones received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She received a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.

“It is an honor and privilege to be chosen as the Director of Surgical Services at WRMC. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity,” said Jones. “I am excited about applying my skills and knowledge in my profession to benefit WRMC and the community.”

In 2010, Jones was awarded the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. In previous positions, she was essential in cross training staff to be competent with endoscopy procedures and assisted with implementing new practices that improved the quality of care, such as using music therapy for pain control.

WRMC is a 224-bed regional referral center and the flagship facility of White River Health System (WRHS). WRHS is a not-for-profit healthcare system serving residents throughout North Central Arkansas.  The system includes hospitals, outpatient facilities, primary care and specialty physician office practices. WRHS is a member of the Premier Alliance, the American Hospital Association, and the Arkansas Hospital Association and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health.
