First Presumed COVID-19 Case Reported

“Today, we were notified of a patient with a presumed positive case of Coronavirus (COVID-19),” said Gary Paxson, White River Health President and CEO.

“We initiated our plan of preparation weeks ago for this type of situation as soon as the first cases were diagnosed in the United States. We are providing care to the patient in isolation using infection prevention protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) along with other state and national recommendations.”

White River Health has assessment tools, information on how families can be safe, and links to the Arkansas Department of Health and CDC on our website www.whiteriverhealth.org. The organization is providing regular updates on our response to the Coronavirus on their website and social media.

“We encourage people to use the assessment tools and telemedicine services that we offer,” said Paxson. “I am proud of the way our healthcare staff has responded to this crisis, and we are honored by the support shown to us by our community.”
