White River Medical Center is proud to offer advanced radiologic services for men, women, and children of all ages. Whether screening for early detection or diagnosing a current condition, our radiologists and technologists offer innovative medical imaging techniques as well as traditional services such as x-ray and ultrasound.

Diagnostic Radiology

• 64-Slice CT— CT (Computed Tomography) is a diagnostic imaging procedure that produces 64 cross section images per rotation when scanning blood vessels, bones, organs, and soft tissues. Images may be taken using contrast, a special dye injected into a vein to highlight areas of the body being examined.
• CT Angiography (CTA) — Used to diagnose and/or monitor blood vessel disease, aneurysms, blockages, or similar conditions.
  
• Calcium Scoring CT —  Scan of the coronary arteries for blockage or narrowing due to calcified plaque buildup, thus evaluating the risk for heart attack.
• Low-Dose Lung CT — Detects abnormalities in the chest using less ionizing radiation than a conventional CT scan.
  
• PET CT Scan — A nuclear medicine exam that identifies changes on a cellular level—before they are visible on other imaging tests—using radiotracers and special equipment to evaluate organs and/or soft tissues; mobile unit available weekly.
  
• Large Bore MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging – Often used for evaluating injuries, tumors, and degenerative disorders of the bones, joints, and surrounding soft tissues by employing magnetic energy and radio waves to produce detailed images of internal body structures. High-field, large-bore scanners provide a more comfortable experience for patients of all sizes due to the extra-large bore architecture. MRI does not require ionized radiation. Patients with MRI safe cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators can safely and comfortably be scanned by the MRI used at WRMC.
  
• Digital Mammography — Early detection of breast cancer using low-dose x-rays.
  
• Stereotactic Breast Biopsy — A procedure that uses mammography to locate and biopsy an abnormality of the breast.  Stereotactic breast biopsy is less invasive than surgical biopsy, with little to no scarring.
  
• Bone Density — A painless, non-invasive test to measure bone mass and the most accurate way to diagnose osteoporosis.
